Nostra, a leading Irish IT services provider, today opened their first office in the Cork region, marking the culmination of a significant €5 million investment in Munster IT and AV services in 2024.
Underscoring the IT leader’s commitment to the region, this expansion incorporates the teams from local Nostra acquisitions, Compunet Ireland Ltd and Spectrum AV, while also serving as a base for new talent in Cork.
The company will expand its workforce by adding 70 new roles over the next 12 months across critical areas across Cybersecurity, Marketing, Engineering, Account Management, and Sales. This includes roles at the new Cork site, some which are currently live.
Kevin O’Loughlin, Co-founder and CEO of Nostra, commented: “Our new office reflects Nostra’s long-term commitment to making Cork a key hub for technology innovation and exceptional service delivery. It’s been a strong 12 months for Nostra in the region, acquiring two fantastic companies in Spectrum and Compunet and bringing their expertise into one cohesive Nostra team. We are well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of our clients across Munster and beyond, with an even more robust suite of services.”
“The backing of Enterprise Ireland and the presence of Commissioner Designate McGrath at our opening reflect the importance of this expansion to the Irish tech sector, and we are excited to continue our journey of growth and excellence from this new base.”
Opened by European Commissioner Designate Michael McGrath, the new office, based in the heart of Cork’s Docklands, places Nostra at the centre of a €125 million regeneration project in the city's south docks, positioning the company at the forefront of Cork’s rapid development as a key European technology hub. With its strategic location, Nostra is well placed to build out its multiple offerings across both enterprise and SME sectors, supporting clients’ national and international expansions.
Speaking at the opening, Michael McGrath, European Commissioner Designate for Democracy, Justice and the Rule of Law, said: “I am delighted to join the Nostra team at their highly impressive new office here in Cork’s docklands. Irish businesses like Nostra are the backbone of our economy, creating jobs right across the country and Nostra is a stellar example of the vibrancy apparent across the Irish-owned export-focused enterprise base. I am delighted that Nostra, an Enterprise Ireland supported company which started its life with just four people back in 2006 has now grown to be an international player on the world stage working with global companies. I would like to congratulate Kevin O’Loughlin and his team for their dedication and vision and look forward to seeing the impact this investment will have on the wider Munster region.”
Compunet, acquired by Nostra in November 2023, has been a trusted IT partner to a broad customer base across SME, multinational, and education sectors. With a history of growth through its own acquisitions—including the MSP division of TSG in 2017 and KD Systems in 2021—Compunet’s integration into Nostra further strengthens the company’s position in Cork.
Spectrum AV, founded in 2014, specialises in professional audio-visual solutions across corporate offices, educational institutions, public spaces, and private homes. Acquired by Nostra in March 2024, Spectrum AV brings expertise in delivering cutting-edge AV setups, which will play a crucial role in Nostra’s future growth in the region.
Speaking at the launch, Kevin Sherry, Executive Director, Enterprise Ireland, said:
“Nostra’s expansion into Cork is a key development for the local tech ecosystem. Not only does it create jobs, but it also enhances the region’s capacity to deliver world-class IT and AV solutions. Enterprise Ireland looks forward to continuing to support Nostra’s growth ambitions as they expand their global footprint, strengthening their customer base internationally and continuing to create high quality jobs here in Cork and across the country.”
The Cork expansion is part of Nostra’s five-year plan (from 2024-2028), including growing to 1,000 employees, reaching €250 million in revenue, and supporting 200,000 users. The company’s long-term vision also encompasses European acquisitions and eliminating malware threats for its clients, underscoring Nostra’s strategic momentum and direction.
